Because your child is under 16, you give the consents for their SPLT Club account. Their account is set up but cannot be used until you have.
What you're agreeing to
On the next screens you'll see, written about your child:
- the guardian declaration, confirming you are their parent or legal guardian;
- the Athlete Terms of Use, which you accept on their behalf;
- SPLT Club's health data consent, for their profile;
- the club's sharing consent, with the choice of whether the club sees their history or starts fresh.
What you can do from your own account
Until your child turns 16 you can:
- see and change their consents and their sharing with each club;
- see their training plan and the training they log;
- download a copy of their data, ask for it to be corrected, or delete their account.
You cannot see their health and wellbeing information — check-ins, injuries, heart rate, sleep and the like. Their coaches can, while your child shares with their club.
More than one guardian
Consent from one guardian is enough to start the account. Any linked guardian can withdraw consent, and a withdrawal takes priority. If guardians disagree, or a court order limits a parent's access, the club resolves it under its safeguarding policy and can unlink a guardian.
When they turn 16
Thirty days before their 16th birthday, you and they are told what will change. On their birthday they're asked to give each consent in their own name, and your access to their account settings ends unless they choose to keep you linked. At 18 they accept the Terms in their own right and any guardian link is removed.
When they are 16 or 17
No guardian consent is needed. If the club has your details you may be invited to co-accept the Terms alongside them; it's optional, and their account never waits for it.
